Here's an interesting blog post about the recent Tonner convention in San Francisco.  The author reports on RT's comments regarding future directions for ten inch child dolls.  Thank goodness, it sounds like there is a definite future!  (This is the entry for January 21, in case the link only goes to the main page of the blog.)  http://tikidoll.blogspot.com/2013/01/san-francisco-tonner-luncheon-review.html
Enjoy, R.

I don't agree that child fashion dolls don't sell. Many BJD are child dolls and they sell very well.
I think he needs a strong character with a pleasantly-perfectly-cute head mold and a lot of variety in designs and fashions.
Ann Estelle was a big hit in her times but maybe it was the lack of novelties that make her popularity decline in her later years.
For years people asked a better articulated body but it never came.

But all in all it's good news, I can't wait to see the New Patsys and her outfits. I heard there will be 3 new basic Patsy this year!
Maybe this is too much..lol!
I absolutely would adore a big and little sister for her! And she needs a kitty:)
