Alison has joined the fun at the beach ..... well, she's thinking she might have more fun if she was wearing a more modern swim suit, but I keep telling her she's sooooo cute in Half Pint's Tonner togs! Cheer up Alison! R.
Sudha and Ollie just happen to be the first two kids from Joe Pye Towers to get their new resin, ball-jointed Tenner bodies!!! "Goodbye ol' friends!!! We love you but we're ready to MOVE!!!"
And to celebrate the event (and Memorial Day too!) and spend some relaxing time adjusting to all those marvelous moving elbows, wrists, knees, etc, etc they're off to the beach!!!
Ahhh .... this is the good life!!!! R.
My new Tonner/Effanbee Half Pint "Beach Day" doll arrived yesterday and I thought there might be some people interested in seeing her compared to other members of the Ann Estelle family.
All the ten inch doll bodies are essentially the same size and can wear the same clothes so the only significant difference from one doll to another is the head. So let's begin by comparing measurements. Ann Estelle, Sophie, Georgia and Gracie have head circumferences of between 7" and 7 3/8". Patsy has a smaller head at only 6 3/4". The new Half Pint's head measures a whopping 8 3/4"! Her head is HUGE compared to the other dolls. (Take a look at "Some Measurements" and "Getting Wiggy" sections for measuring details)
While some other collectors will not be bothered by Half Pint's large head, in my opinion she does not work very well with the other dolls. Her head is just too large for me and puts her in a different scale from the others. Her face is very cute in an old fashioned way and her outfit is adorable so she will go into my collection but not become a member of my Tenner gang of play dolls.
