A gathering at Ann Estelle's house - cousins and friends - thinking holiday thoughts! Here is Marianne ....
... and hostess extraordinaire Ann Estelle....
..... cousin Michael (he's busy these days, isn't he? - Thanks Stephanie for liking him in the previous post!) and Little-Rock-&-Roll play Christmas songs together ..... (She needs a name, doesn't she? She is the same sculpt as Darlene [Little Darling #1]. Maybe Oona? But I'm not sure that's the correct way to spell "Oona"!)
Time for an old Christmas movie .....
Time to think spooky thoughts .... time to listen for things that go bump in the night .... time to gather candy corn by the light of the full moon!!!!!

Enjoy, if you dare!! R.
Last night was the denouement of the Christmas pageant preparations.
We had kings!!
We had shepherds!!
We had sheep!!
We had an angel!!
And we had the Holy Family!!!!
All played their part to perfection. Alison only sneezed a couple of times. They are all very proud of their efforts!!! "Show everyone the photos!!!"
And afterwards there was a great party - Christmas cookies, egg nog and mince-meat pie with vanilla ice cream. Then time for more fun singing Christmas carols.

Last fall I bought a canopy bed for the girls bedroom in Joe Pye Towers. It has taken me this long to get around to "fixing" it and making bed linens for it. But now it is done and here is Ann Estelle showing off her rendition of the "More the Merrier" Engelbreit illustration. Oh my, what a rodeo it was to get all those toys to stay put on the bed until I got the right picture!!!!
The fabric I used for the quilt is an older purchase than the bed frame - it is a design by Polly Ann Blythe for Camelot Cottons called "Kiki's Play Day".
I guess this fulfills my childhood desire for a canopy bed! Luckily it just barely clears the ceiling of the girls bedroom! Enjoy. R.
Many apologies for being so quiet recently ..... Spring finally arrived here and I'm spending a lot of time out in the garden and not with the Joe Pye gang! So just a quick ME Too'sday post to let you know the blog is still alive ..... an oldie - from 2006 no less. I thought the gardening image was apropos?
This spring, unlike previous ones since I started gardening here in North Carolina, has been kind to the garden - no late freezes and, so far, no catastrophic hail or wind storms. My heart goes out to all the folks in "Tornado Alley" who are suffering there during this current time of severe weather. R.
Imagine that - our website is one year old today!!!! I'm proud of the baby - I think we've done very well with him/her!!!
Here's a ME Too'sday entry - maybe we can say they are two little girls coming to the birthday party?? I know the outfit on the right as "The Birthday Diva", from the title of a rubber stamp which was my first "exposure" to the ME illustration.
This dress is one of my favorite ME outfits. I've redone the entire dress once and redone the picture several times! In the outfit's original form (before I had seen the original ME illustration and knew the "correct" colors) it was the first photo I shared over the internet, with a Yahoo group where I was a trepidatious member in about 2004. And the scene of the illustration called out for modeling by my first home-articulated Ann Estelle in 2008. And eventually Tonner used the same illustration for an outfit (..... but I must admit, I like mine better!)
2013 is the one year birthday for the website ..... and for me personally, it is the ten year anniversary for my affair with these wonderful dolls! I look forward to many more years of fun!!! R.
