As promised, here are some more pictures, "in real life", of the new Patsy. She really does call out to be dressed in pink! (This dress, by the way, is made from a classic Bleuette pattern.)
Generally I'm not a big fan of long applied eyelashes on little girls (be they dolls or kids!), but I do think the applied lashes on this Patsy improve her "look" over the Christmas Morning Patsy, who did not have lashes (I think I'm correct about this?) As she arrived the lashes were pressed upwards towards her eyebrows but I gently pushed them downwards to get them to stand more horizontally out from her face and .... I gave them a bit of a trim to suit my tastes - so the doll in these photos won't look exactly like yours when she arrives.
And the hair ..... well, I've been spoiled by the fiber used in the Ann Estelle line (especially the older dolls) and this fiber is definitely more wispy. Perhaps because of that the hair on either side of her face has something applied to it to hold the style. Something like gel?? Sorry, but it is icky! It does look a bit nicer if you comb it a bit ... but I'm just not used to this look in wigs. So I may try switching her over to the Sophie Symphony wig, which is somewhat similar in cut and color. But I'll leave the sweetie alone for a little while so she can get her bearings here - not scare her to death right off the bat!
So there you have my "take" on the new Patsy. Can't wait for the "TBD" to be lifted from the schedule for arrival of the outfits - I'm really looking forward to them.
Thanks Tonner!!!! R.
