Gentle Reader,
Recently I saw an outfit for sale on eBay for Effner Little Darling size dolls (i.e. bigger than our ten inchers) made by a talented seamstress, using great fabric - a design of multiple "borders", one being a line of very colorful Matryoshka dolls.  I eagerly started to hunt for the same fabric but could only find a matching design of all-over, larger dolls.  So I got a fat quarter of that design, scanned it, cut-and-pasted the dolls in a line, shrunk it and printed on computer fabric.  Then used (only!) one new fabric (the rose stripe) and 3 stash fabrics (I'm always proud of myself when I use stash fabric instead of buying MORE!) to create what I hope is somewhat evocative of a stereotype RushAnn * folk outfit.  I hope you enjoy seeing little Anya Stella as much as I enjoyed creating her outfit!!!   (By the way, while trying to find a believable RushAnn * version of the name "Ann Estelle", I came across the fact that the baby Princess Estelle of Sweden is already a duchess!  And of Östergötland, no less!  [Not that I have any idea where Östergötland is, but I can look that up too, can't I?])  R.

As usual, great minds think alike. I also saw the outfit on eBay, and started the search. Was surprised to find the fabric at JoAnns and was pleased to find the smaller border print as I love those little birds in one of the stripes. Love your outfit, and the new identity. You used fabric stash, and the fancy sewing machine stitches for double points. FYI, I think there is a typo in the last sentence of your latest post.

At least 14 different sites with domains in the former USSR have produced referrals to our website since I posted this blog entry - it doesn't look like they are specifically doll collecting sites ..... is is just some sort of automated searches finding the word "Ru..ia" that I used in the post or are you shy doll lovers?? I'm curious and would love to know! R.

I've asked the nice folks at Weebly about this phenomena and they tell me that it is "referrer spam". Not something that will affect the website or you the reader, but just kind of irritating to us owners (or at least me.) Since this referrer spam started after this blog post and since most of it seems to be coming from RushAnn addresses, I'm assuming that my use of the word RushAnn somehow attracted it. And in hopes of maybe making it slow down or go away, I've changed the spelling of RushAnn. Probably useless!! And who knows what new deviltry the word RushAnn may attract!!! R.

oh, and maybe I should have said that as of July 17th, the number of odd referrals from RushA alone (and they're also now coming from other parts of the world) was 124, waaaayyyy more than our "normal" number of "normal" referrals. R.
