Enjoy! R.
Sophie is ready for the Diamond Jubilee Ball!!! (See Engelbreit illustration in second to last blog post.) But before the ball, twenty-five of the world's monarchs gathered for a group photo. Somehow, inadvertently, the Queen of Everything, the Princess of Quite a Lot, and the Duchess of Double That were left out of the photo. They're not too worried but HRH Queen Elizabeth II was a little embarrassed. So she took them on a private tour of the palace. Here they are looking at a gallery of kinfolk art. Ann Estelle and Georgia are doing a great job of juggling their scepters and their purses, and keeping their crowns on the top of their heads but Sophie ("SOPHIE??!!") seems to have misplaced her purse and scepter! Happy Diamond Jubilee, Your Majesty!!! Have fun girls on the remainder of your visit to the UK!! (No Corgi puppies in your luggage please!)
Enjoy! R.

Maybe she is waiting for her handmaiden to bring it? Or Prince Michael?

Once again an amazingly well interpreted version of an Engelbreit outfit. The blue layer is so true to the illustration, you must have made that yourself. Please share some of the construction details for your seamstress fans.

Mary Sue, thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching! Yes, I put the decoration on the blue flounce myself - the orange edging is machine "embroidery" and the rest is a combination of hand embroidery and applying fabric with fusible material. I then used FrayCheck on the edge and cut away the excess, up to the machine stitching. I was going to gather the ribbon for the edge of the flowered flounce but that didn't work, so I applied the ribbon by hand while pleating it. I used the "wrong" side of that fabric to get the affect I wanted. The bottom flounce has cut-out flowers from the above flounce fabric applied with fusible and hand embroidery, and the edge treated with FrayCheck and cut into the scallops (probably could have done this via sewing on facing, but didn't want the extra weight there). The top flounce is store bought eyelet edging (and unfortunately not very good quality, but I wanted to finish the outfit rather than waiting to find something on the 'net and have it shipped to me.)
