Wishes for the new year

12/28/2015

Update 01.28.16 (it didn't used to happen, but nowadays the comments added to blog posts all disappear when the post is one month old .... maybe I should check the Weebly settings to see if I can change that)  As was noted in recent comments by Joy, the word from the recent Tonner west coast convention is that the renewal of the Ann Estelle line will not use the ten inch bodies.  What a big disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claudia asked me recently what my hopes/wishes would be for the reinvigorated Tonner Ann Estelle line coming up in 2016.  So that has started me to thinking!  Wouldn't it be great if Tonner was making another face sculpt for the line, that would "match" the proportions of Ann Estelle, Sophie, et al??!!  So that would be my first wish, I guess.

Claudia reminded me that I have always lusted after more substantial "rubber" rain boots for the dolls - ones like Tonner made for the Little Miss Matched line (sorry if that's not the totally correct name of the line - I may be forgetting it!) or ones that some of the Korean BJD companies used to make for their 1/6 dolls.  So yes, that would be fun!  Here's a picture of Gracie that could serve as the inspiration (and the other outfit would be a cutie too!):

And since I myself don't have much talent for sewing with knit fabric, I'd love for Tonner to make footie pajamas (WITH the flap in the behind!) like these on the left:

I may continue to post some "I wish" illustrations in the next couple of weeks.  Please chime in in the "comment" section if you too have a favorite Engelbreit illustration that you'd like to see Tonner bring to life.  I know that you cannot include images with your comments, but if you describe the drawing, I can probably guess which one it is (yes, I've looked at A LOT of ME illustrations) and add a scan of it.

Meanwhile, along with the kids in the above illustration show, I'm sending out best wishes and high hopes for 2016!!!   R.

I agree that a new compatible face sculpt would be the greatest gift to all Ann Estelle fans. Now that he has more flesh tones to choose from, perhaps Robert will add Mikayla although the most requested character has been Audrey Ann. Of course we would all love a new little boy like Tommy! Sigh...a person can dream...

I would like to see a Gracie sculpt done with the body with all the joints since I couldn't find one with bent knees to convert to the new body plus another boy in the line as well. So looking forward to the new Ann Estelle line.

I am excited that he is bringing them back and will be so happy. I hope they are on the new articulated body. I purchased the new bodies for all my bent knee ones, but they didn't have a body in poor Georgia's skin tone so I would really love Georgia with the new body. A new boy would be marvelous also, but I'm not holding my breath :)

Someone in a group to which I belong mentioned that at the west coast recent convention, R.Tonner mentioned 18" dolls, not the 10ers as we would like. Hope it is not true. Definitely need some new 10ers.

Claudia recently mentioned hearing something to this end and I asked her where she heard it but didn't get an answer (although I was guessing it probably was "leaked" at the SF convention.) Frankly this was my guess about the doll waayyyy back when it was first leaked (I saw on on ME's Facebook page) - that the dolls would NOT be 10"ers, but then one source said they had heard for sure that they would be 10"ers so ...... that's what I pinned my hopes on! Oh well. Too, too bad. R.

Really wish someone knew RT personally and could push for more 10ers. However, with his My Imagination doll guess they could use the same body for an Engelbreit model? I don't have room for more of the 18".:( Maybe he will introduce more in the Patsy line? Time will tell.
